The NCD Research International Blog

ThreeColor When Christian A. Schwarz' book "Natural Church Development" was first published in 1996, it not only opened a new chapter in the international discussion on church growth, but it also initiated a vibrant movement of striving for church health that now encompasses more than 60,000 NCD Surveys done in about 70 countries.

It is the aim of this research blog to revisit the original research done from 1994-1996, based on data from 1188 churches in 32 countries. Over the next months we will use our current database to confirm - or confute - the results that have been published more than 10 years ago.

In addition to asking the old questions again, we will also add new findings and publish them here. So make sure you subscribe to this blog and come back again.

We suggest you read the books "Natural Church Development" (Christian A. Schwarz), "Implementation Guide to Natural Church Development"(Christian A. Schwarz & Christoph Schalk) and "Color Your World with Natural Church Development" (Christian A. Schwarz) if you fully want to understand the background and context of this blog.
